Douglas has a variety of activities to keep any visitor entertained. Within walking distance of the Hotel LaBonte there is an
art gallery,
antiquarian and used book store, saddlery shop, library, grocery store, craft store, bakery, bars and movie theater.
Douglas
has a wonderful walking tour of its downtown and the buildings that are on the National Historic Register with the hotel. Please
ask at the front desk for a brochure.
In addition to the local shops, the Wyoming State Fairgrounds is only a short walk away.
In August the grounds host the Wyoming State Fair. Beyond that there are other the year round events hosted at the grounds.
The Fairgrounds is also home to the
Wyoming Pioneer Memorial Museum, a wonderful place to get an overview of the history of the area
and the state. The museum also houses the original LaBonte Bar.
